very fun if you know what to expect

i got him in the icon encore pack and i wasn't thrilled as i already had yashin but i still kept him around as a fun option. i ended up submitting yashin into his own cb sbc and i was left with no other goalie than van nistelrooy. instead of buying a proper one i decided to give big old ruud a chance and i've used him as a starter for about 30 matches. this guy is the funniest card i've ever used, he's absolutely trash and he's incredible at the same time. he is the literal embodiment of an el loco goalkeeper: a total liability when it comes to straight up shot saving, he dives the wrong way, stumbles on his own legs, can't catch a shot even if his life depended on it but at the same time he's insanely quick, rushes off his line like a madman, has very good distribution and is a free kick/penalty master. rush out of goal and far throw are the perfect playstyles for him. also, he's probably the best when it comes to gk movement, he's very responsive and fast to move around. too bad he literally cannot dive. for playstyles i recommend basic, shield or cat for the extra speed and reflexes boost. his diving is absolutely hilarious, even with wall which gives it the biggest boost, so don't even bother boosting that. overall he's definetly not a goalie you'd want to use if you take yourself very seriously. literally any other icon goalie is better than him for that. however, if you want a fun gk that will catch 9/10 long balls, rush off his line at any given chance, behave like an absolute madman and score your free kicks and penalties he's the best pick out there.

20 games in - Do not expect a clean sheet because this man will s**t the bed at every opportunity. He is very fast (like really fast) off the line to close down on a defender that has broken through, just to dive in the wrong direction. Not that he would ever let it get to this point but he is great at scoring PK's so technically in a shootout if it came down...
